Our academy is dedicated to fostering a well-rounded development by encouraging students to engage in activities that complement their academic pursuits and promote personal growth. From dynamic clubs to competitive sports, there’s something for everyone at Mende Valley.
One of the standout features of student life at Mende Valley is our diverse range of clubs and societies. Whether students are passionate about debating, technology, or the arts, there’s an opportunity for them to delve into their interests. The Debate Club, for instance, has seen impressive success in regional competitions, thanks to the dedication of its members and the guidance of their mentors. According to Samuel Adeyemi, the club president, “Participating in debates has sharpened my critical thinking and public speaking skills, and it’s incredible to see our hard work recognized in competitions.”
Sports are another integral part of life at Mende Valley. Our academy boasts a variety of teams including football, basketball, and athletics, all of which compete in local and regional tournaments. The Football Team, led by captain Chiamaka Eze, recently brought home the trophy from the Lagos Inter-School Football Championship. “Winning the championship was a testament to the teamwork and dedication of our players,” Chiamaka shares. “Sports at Mende Valley teach us not only about competition but also about discipline, leadership, and perseverance.”
Extracurricular activities at Mende Valley are designed to cater to a wide array of interests and talents. The Academy’s annual Cultural Fest, for example, is a highlight of the school year. This event showcases student talents in music, dance, and drama, with performances drawing large crowds and enthusiastic applause. Joy Nwosu, a member of the Drama Club, reflects on the event: “Cultural Fest is an amazing platform for us to express our creativity and share our talents with the whole school community. It’s always a memorable experience.”
